Our Prayer Shawl Ministry lovingly creates handmade shawls and blankets to provide comfort and hope to those in need. Each shawl and blanket is prayerfully crafted as a tangible reminder of God’s love and our church’s support. If you or someone you know could benefit from receiving a prayer shawl, please contact Laura at lauraweidm[email protected]. We also welcome donations of yarn to help us continue this ministry—soft, washable yarn in any color is greatly appreciated and can be dropped off at in the bin at church. Thank you for supporting this meaningful mission!
Saint Fiacre was an Irish monk who lived during the 7th century and is renowned for his deep spirituality and dedication to a life of solitude and labor. He is particularly remembered for his legendary skills in gardening and healing, which led to his recognition as the patron saint of gardeners, herbalists, and those suffering from various ailments. According to tradition, Saint Fiacre established a hermitage in France, where he cultivated a garden that became famous for its miraculous healing properties. His legacy of compassion, hard work, and devotion continues to inspire many, including knitters and craftsmen who seek his intercession for patience and skill in their work. His feast day is celebrated on September 1st.
Prayer to Saint Fiacre: "Dear Saint Fiacre, patron of those who labor with their hands, guide and bless all who create beautiful things through knitting and crafting. Grant us patience, skill, and the joy of sharing our creations with others. May our work bring comfort and happiness to those in need. Amen.”
